I had written a post last night however; I'm not sure what happened to it.
My dad was arrested Thursday for communication. Following a police visit to myself, my daughters school and a social services phone call.. I was told no contact but had already stated before this I wouldn't anyway.
tomorrow I got the call that he had attempted to take his own life by overdose... since then I was sat in ITU waiting and then this morning I was told his heart stopped.
How do I find closure from this??
Will the investigation continue???

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm not sure about the police investigation but the coroner may be able to help with closure

Sorry for your loss at what must be an incredibly difficult time, you poor love must just be feeling a complete rollercoaster of emotions. I can't help with your question but please remember there are no rules in grief, take care of yourself xx

I am so sorry for your loss and the trauma surrounding it. Sending you strength to cope one day at a time.

Thank you to you all for replying. It's been a very traumatic few days to say the least. First the arrest and repercussions of this on my own little family on Thursday and then to hear he had attempted his life on Friday to him passing Saturday morning.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Usually they close the case in this scenario which is extremely difficult for the family members as it does seem to hinder the grieving process. What I will say is the whole process, limbo and stigma attached to this crime is beyond comprehension to the point I don't think the choice to take your life is indicative of a person's guilt.
When you feel up to it, it may be an option to write a letter of complaint to the police force and request a formal investigation to ensure that everything they did was above board. Sending love xx

I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through. Whatever the knock would have uncovered, if anything, he is still your Dad and your loss is tremendous. A lot of our people have made a terrible mistake in getting to this place, very very few have, or ever would, act on it.
Presumably there will be an inquest, you may get some answers then but for now look after yourself and afford yourself the grieving process.
