Hello ladies.

So O/H has got his Disclosure Letter from probation team who have helped him along the way.

It's just that if anything crops up in a interview then he can just give em the letter without going into much details.

My son has been given a 'disclosure ' letter by the Browns agency on behalf of Probation.

It says offences of a 'sexual nature' & allows employers to ask more. I'm not sure if it is too general & should mention online offences.

My son is attaching a very positive covering letter to all job applications before they ask him the inevitable questions about conviction.

Probation have told my husband that he should only use the disclosure letter 'if' he needs to disclose ie if he is asked about convictions. Not all employers ask. He was told that if you are not asked you are not obliged to disclose x

Th e question does seem to be

Do you disclose in all job interviews or just when they ask you.

If you do not disclose you run the risk of being 'let go ' within 6 months when they find out & you have no redress.

My person was not asked and did not disclose. They didn't do a dbs check either. There is nothing in their t&c about having a conviction. He is struggling with not being open about it because it was secrets and lies that got him into this situation in the first place. The police did say to him if they don't ask, then he does not have to disclose.

He does have a letter handy if they find out which he plans to give them if they ask.
