Hi All,

Hope you're all hanging in there?

I was wondering if anyone has some tips on explaining to friends/family/coworkers about their person not having their phones and other items whilst the police have them?

My OH has had people asking him about his phone which we'd originally said it's in repair but the longer it goes on it's harder to keep using the same excuse and fear people becoming suspicious.

Could you just buy a cheap phone for him to use for now? My person was allowed but it might depend on the restrictions given to him by the police.

When it comes to the phone, the police told me that my OH could report the sim card for his phone as lost and get sent a new one. I had an older phone that I no longer used, so we just put the replacement sim card in that phone. He was only non contactable for 2 days.

Thanks guys we did go for a very old fashioned one to begin with because of the fact we were told it wouldn't be a long time to wait. While we've been waiting we've had so many questions about it and he thinks the phone he had made him look dodgy as well.

He now has a new phone but its frustrating as the one they have is still being paid off.

I just hope it brings him some sense of normalcy as this whole situation is very isolating.
