Sorry if this seems a silly question. I have seen the actual police report concerning my OH offences. But was just wondering if this is the same as disclosure with the solicitor. We are post sentencing. I have always asked my OH to contact the solicitor to get full details and he keeps 'forgetting' to ask. So was just wondering in peoples opinion would the solicitr have much more than the police report? I also have the report from the court when he was sentenced.
I am trying to find out the full details. Police say one thing, OH says another. Was hoping to see in written form the evidence they used to come to the conclusion the police made. It is about the ages of children involved. I am trying to work through my long term plan, and just was hoping to get all the information to make that decision.
I understand that people may not know but just thought i would ask the question. Thanks. X

I read the report, I also had full disclosure where I spoke to his solicitor a few times probably more than he did. I also went to court and what solicitors had told me was what was said which was also in the police report. I'm not sure if that's much help. Regarding ages my oh told me it was a rough age but the charges said a bigger age group but solicitor said they say it when they don't know how old they could be so use a bigger age scale. Sorry I'm not more help x

A lot will depend on the number of images involved. If there are quite a few, then the police report will usually only make reference to the youngest image found and even then it will be an estimate, because no one knows the real age of most of the victims.

It's unlikely that the solicitors will have seen the actual images, unless the person was pleading not guilty and the age of the child was a key issue in the case. They will have the categories and the numbers, but won't know the ages of each individual child.

The men also have highly selective memories when recalling what they did or did not do. They will say it was "one or two" images, when it was really a hundred and they will tell you the children were teenagers, which may be partly true, if they had a mixture of different ages, but forget to mention that they also had pictures of younger children as well.

The police report always tries to maximise the harm, by highlighting the worst images, in order to get the greatest sentence and the men will try to minimise the harm, to protect themselves. Somewhere inbetween these two extremes lies the truth.

Thank you for your replies. OH said teenagers, police report quoted a huge age range. Was just trying to see if the solictor would have more info on ages etc, what evidence did the police use etc. i dont know who to believe. Not sure how this will affect my long term decision, but trying to find an avenue that will help me make a decision. Fed up keeping myself in limbo until my brain will decide what it wants to do.....stay or leave.

Thanks. X
