Hi,
Sorry you find yourself here.
When my son went to magistrates, nothing was in the media at all. I am surprised that a solicitor would say that.

Oh how I feel for you. I've been where you are and it's so hard. My son lost everything due to his offending, his marriage, home, family life, job etc. His case was also in the media. I've never known such overwhelming anxiety and literally felt all his pain with him. What I will say though is that 7 months later we have adapted to our new way of life. He has his children at weekends and his dad and I provide the supervised contact. He doesn't yet have a job but he's constantly applying for jobs and it's only a matter of time before he gets one.
I now know that the anxiety and fear I felt was worse than the reality of it actually happening. When he actually lost his job we all felt terrible for a few weeks but having no job meant he could get on and complete his community hours quickly and being forced to go out and mix with other people on probation helped improve his confidence. For me seeing him come home from his community hours looking pleased with what he'd achieved helped relieve my anxiety until it eventualy became bearable again.

Hi
My FM was given a 10 month suspended for 2 years, 10 years SOR and SHPO and rehabilitation for images across all categories and extreme pornography He was told the media would likely be there but when they were not we were relieved. It still made the newspapers and we expected all hell to break loose. We lived close to them and moved not long after. It was a small community and I feared what it would mean for us.
Then 4 months later and not a single thing until my now ex husband, despite being told by police not to say anything, told some of our old neighbours! FM and his wife were driven out of their home.
they are still together and living quietly somewhere much nicer xx
