Does my son need to cover up on the way into court in the same way as he does coming out. To avoid press photography??

No as they won't know what he looks like, try not to worry there is every chance there will be no media there

It is one ofthe most terrifying parts. I didn't know if they would take a pic knowing he was in court for something by the way he's dressed x

I would wear a face mask and a cap.

Just because I have seen stories with pictures of people taken when they walked out of the court house.

We didn't do the whole cover up part I left slightly before/after him. We didn't end up with his picture on but he was in the paper and nobody was present in court either. It's horrible waiting after it's over to see if it then all starts again

Thank you all for your replies.

It's so worrying, I am going to tell him to cover up and go in separately I think. We could do without any backlash. I so hope there are not any press there.

There doesn't seem to be an end to this process at the moment, it just keep coming x

Dad, When my son was sentenced the media were there remotely. The judge made a point of saying no one was allowed to take notes but I'm sure they did as some of what was reported was exactly as the prosecution said it in court. It did mean though that they couldn't take any photos which was good.
How are you and your son doing?

I hope you don't get any media attention, strangely for my person they reported on his plea at plea hearing but no reporters have reported on the sentencing so I think it's just depends. I hope you get the best possible outcome. Such a worrying time.

Dad x

Hope you and your son are bearing up x

Another idea was after sentancing was for your son to change his top and jacket after the hearing and wait in the toilets for a little while, most courts have a cafe also as much as you want to rush out and get home it can also be a relief to grab a drink and wait in the court for a bit then leave x

Hi,

Thank you all.

Some great advice. This has been an awful journey and we are almost at the the final court stage. I'm not sure it will be better afterwards but at least we will know where we stand.

Hat, sunglasses, COVID mask and go in and out separately, maybe 5 mins apart.

Hi, in my experience, there wasn't a court reporter there in the day of sentencing. Six weeks later, the Police put my ex's mug shot, name, age, address and crimes on their FB page. It then went across all other local media. X
