Hi all, we have been delighted with how quickly this forum has become a space for the partners and family members of those who have accessed indecent images to share experiences, ask questions and receive/offer support to one another. It’s really heartening to read your posts, and to witness the support you are giving to one another at such a difficult time in your lives.

We are also thinking about how we can improve your experience of using the forum, and we have some ideas on that front that we are exploring. For example, we think a keyword search function might be valuable. This is something we would like to introduce, providing the technical costs are not too expensive.

The main reason that we set up the forum is to reduce people’s sense of isolation and to provide a safe way for people to connect with one another. However, from some of your posts, it seems that some people have specific questions they want to ask and may find it difficult, for whatever reason, to call the Stop it Now! Helpline. Therefore, we are considering an ‘Ask Lucy’ slot, possibly once a month for a couple of hours. During this time we will be online and will try and answer your questions as best we can. What do you think? Does this sound like a good idea? Please let us know your thoughts.

In the meantime, please keep reading, posting and supporting one another. And please do call the Stop it Now! Helpline on 0808 1000 900 if you want to speak to someone about your situation. Thanks.

Hi

i think the ask Lucy idea is really good, I’ve found the forum really helpful and everyone is so supportive of each other, thankyou so much for setting it up, it’s a bit of a lifeline for me knowing there’s somewhere to go where your choices won’t be judged and you know your not alone

A keyword search function would be really helpful. As more people join, I suspect that conversations will become more and more fragmented, and that the same ground will be covered from time to time. I also think an ‘Ask Lucy’ session with instant feedback from sympathetic specialists would be extremely reassuring.

I think the Ask Lucy idea is good, although once a month seems a long time to wait for reassuring advice when you desparate. Once a week maybe for less time?

Hi all, thank you for your replies and suggestions. It sounds like an 'Ask Lucy' session would be welcome, and certainly worth piloting. We shall start a fresh topic with a suggested date and time for the first session. Sadly, given our limited resources, I'm not sure we can commit to a weekly session. Let's see what the take-up is like, and remember, you are all welcome to call the Stop it Now! Helpline.

With regard to other potential developments, we are making enquiries about the costs of having a key word search function on the forum as well as the facility to group topics under sub-headings, so that people can more easily find the topics and posts most relevant to them. Hopefully these changes won't be too expensive to make. However, making further changes, such as some of the excellent ones you have made on this thread, will have to wait - for now at least.

Please remember that you can always contact us via the 'report post' link if you would like us to edit or remove a post you have made. We certainly do not want anyone left feeling uncomfortable or exposed by anything they have written.

Thanks again for your support, and best wishes to everyone.
