Hi Lost, the plea hearing was 4 weeks after charges were given for my son and sentencing was 4 weeks after that.

My son was asked to attend the police station for an update and when he went he was given the charges and his magistrate court date. His magistrate and crown court attendances were both in the same building with a shared waiting room but the court rooms were different. The court was local to where we live.

Hi lost4words,

My son was asked to attend police station to be charged and then was given a magistrates court date. About 4 weeks later. At magistrates, the prosecution pushed for it to go to crown, even tho the judge wanted to sentence there and then. We were given a crown date about 5 or 6 weeks after, which was postponed for a pre sentencing report to be done, so in all waited about 9 weeks for crown.

Hope this helps x

Hi, when my ex was arrested the first time he was remanded. He was seen in the magistrates court quite quickly. It then went to Crown Court a month later. He got three years in prison, first offence.
We are now going through it a second time. This time he was first arrested about 22 months ago. He hasn't been remanded. It's finally gone to CPS but still waiting. He pleaded guilty both times straight away. X
