Following on from previous post about the south east..... It makes me hopping mad to see how long some people have waited.
We are in the south west and so far it's been 2 and 1/3 years since The Knock, we don't even know if the report has been sent to the CPS or not yet, so am expecting at least 6 more months. Meanwhile life is still on hold.
Anyone else in the south west waited ages?
I made a point of voting for a different crime commissioner in last weeks elections. Something has to change

Hi Ellbee, I am also the south west and it took 2 days for the device to be searched and reported on, the decice was clean nothing of concern and no evidence on it. It took a further 5 months with cps to charge during this time he was rebailed 3 times x
If there was no evidence on his devices, what evidence do they have to still send off to CPS etc?
Hi RShultz. He had a Snapchat account for 3 days to speak to adult women. This is unfortunately where he had made contact with a decoy account and said one inappropriate word in a very brief conversation. He had deleted his account entirely after the 3rd when his device was seized 6 weeeks later there was no evidence found. Being a decoy account it was the police who had screenshot the word he had used. He has been charged for this. Happy for you or anyone to message me if they feel they are in a similar situation we have been told numerous times even by the police this is the lowest possible offending of this crime but none the less still an offence. Even tho his device was clean and nithing else of concern was found the police still made a request for it to be destroyed.
Hi EllBee,
We are in the South West and we have waited for almost 18 months so far with no progress apart from a second interview about another matter and several requests from the OIC for information which has been provided already, and it's become clear that the OIC hasn't a clue about how devices work. Our person was actually asked to speak to someone else once and help them, which he did so as to remain compliant and helpful but now seems almost funny although we hope his solicitor can use it as proof of how helpful he's been when needed. Like you, EllBee, things don't appear to be as far as going to the CPS yet. Our person's solicitor asks for a progress report every 28 days and is ignored (rude!) plus at meetings with SS where the OIC should attend, there has been no attendance for months and we don't even get an apology or a generic update now.
Like you we just keep on keeping on, and when there is some progress it will come as a huge shock I think.
