Hi people,

This is my first time posting but I had some questions.

It's not much about travel in a sense as me and my OH have been aboard before. The first he didn't realise any travel aboard needed to be notified. My heart dropped when we were told to go to court for the breach (ended in a fine luckily).

However, we notified PPU about our holiday due in a couple of weeks and we're first advised he needed to give 14 days notice but Unlock and Narcos say 7 days. I was also questioning how much information they needed. His officer said he needed not just flights, hotel, etc. They wanted how we are travelling to and from airports, any references, who he's are travelling with. Which I couldn't find any to back this up.

By all means I'm not wanting my OH to come rude and suspicious, but we have a second holiday in August with my family we're worried they going to be linked in someway.

Let me know

Theres no requirement under the law to disclose who they are travelling with or details of how they are going to get to the airport and yes it is 7 days, not 14.

If one of the people they are travelling with is under 18 though, then there is a seperate requirement to notify the police if they are going to spend more than 12 hours with that u-18.

Just want an end to it

The basics that are needed are flights, hotels, Dates and times. If any changes then you notify your designated police worker ASAP (I checked this out) So flight delays, I have their emails so I can email stright away if any sudden changes, and I call too, but I always back up in writing. It's just that it then flags on the police system that you have checked in and when you come through customs in the UK.

They then ask who your going with, how you are getting to the airport, perpose of the trip. We was told we did not need to give these details, however we always do in the interest of being transparent and making this journey as painless as possible. We always take pictures of the report at the police station too, as back up.

You can report a holiday abroard at any time min 7 days before, We usually do it a month before, just incase flights change etc.

Have you got a list of SOR requirements? It's always handy to have to refer back to and if I have any confusion I email my persons Jigsaw worker.
