Am I allowed contact?

Hi everyone,
I have informed social services that my partner (ex partner) and I are no longer in a relationship and contact has been cut for the sake of my son. However, am I allowed to be in contact with him?
I don't want to make any mistakes that will bring social services further into our lives.

Hi,
Is your son his child? Have you cut contact for the reason of removing ss from your life? You are an adult and are allowed contact with him without anyone's permission. From experience, my partners probation officer put in a ss referral based on the fact that we were in regular contact when she checked his phone. This wasn't something that concerned ss as at the time our daughter was a baby and he was allowed contact with her which obviously had to go through me to be arranged and facilitated.
Please don't feel intimidated to cut contact between your ex and your child just to get rid of ss. I know that it's a difficult time and situation to be in. If there are no issues involving your child and your ex is his father then it is possible to safely manage contact and it's ok to want that xxx
