hello

just wanted to see whose partners on this forum pleaded not guilty and what was their defence?

apart from Jaded (and recently one other who got NFA), has anyone had experience of their partner being acquitted/ not guilty ?

Hi Big sigh. I wish I could give you reassurance, but my story's not a good one. My partner plead not guilty. I didn't go to the court case, so I can't say first hand what happened. My partner told me it was accepted by the prosecution that there was no evidence that he ever searched for underage girls. And yet the jury still found him guilty. The judge said that because he had plead not guilty, he had to give a prison sentence, despite the court official recommending a suspended sentence as he was deemed to be no threat to the public. And the local papers called him a dangerous sexual predator. In the current climate, it's very difficult to win a case like this. I honestly thought he would win.

It's a sad state of affairs when the justice system encourages people to plead guilty to avoid custodial.

I hope your doing ok with your other half in prison.

Hi Chiff

What grounds did they have for finding him guilty if there was no evidence? I am so sorry you are in this awful situation.

My husband will be pleading not guilty. His defence is that until the police analysed the computer we had no idea there were any iioc on there. We have no idea how they got there. Although he has been charged there are 4 of us who use that computer however according to the police he is being charged because the broadband/WiFi is in his name and the profile on the computer was his name. It does my matter that it was the only profile but we all used it!

We are paying to have the computer independently analysed.

My partner states that he has no idea how this image has been flagged up by the police. The only thing he can think is that it was in amongst other porn. The police have confirmed that the girl in the picture is a 'teen' so this goes some way to support his story so far.

He hasn't been interviewed yet so we don't know what, if any, the charges will be.

The only thing I would say: this forum seems to have a heavy majority of women who are in the awful position of having guilty partners/sons/ex's.

I am focusing on the fact that anyone who has successfully put in a not guilty plea, or who has received a phone call saying no further action are busy trying to rebuild their lives and forget all this - save for a few who continue to post on here in support of everyone, no matter what their story.

If we get that outcome I can guarantee you I will run for the hills and this forum will be a bad memory that I shove in a box in my brain.

I've learnt that sadly, there aren't many 'happy' outcomes on here that can provide any reassurance.

Sending love to everyone who needs it tonight x
