to say I'm frustraited is an understatement and I honestly don't have a clue what's going on so just looking for advice if this has ever happened to anyone else. I since deleted the post, but the other day I asked if anyone had experience with bail going to RUI but my OH was later contacted by his solicitor to say that the police had handed their investigation over to CPS a day or so before his bail was due to end therefore pausing his bail, but they'd put in another extention?

My only thought is with my OH being on bail for well over a year, everyone knew that it wasn't going to get extended again (Don't want to put in too much detail) so put in what they had even though as far as I'm aware the investigation part of it was finished so why they needed another 3 months I don't know.

it was such a massive punch in the gut, I was hoping that with being RUI we could at least work with police, SS to make a safety plan that allowed him to live in the same property as us more because it would be a massive help to our finances as we're paying for a house neither of us really live in, I haven't lived in my house for nearly a year now and my OH only sleeps in it.

I didn't even know the bail conditions could be frozen, but now according to the solicitor we have to wait to see what CPS decides whether or not he'll be under the same condtions, but does that then mean it'll go to court now?

also on a side note, this was a few weeks ago now and yet the police haven't informed SS at all?? I really don't know what to think about it all anymore.

We had the same happen to us, I think it's pretty common. Bail conditions were frozen until the plea hearing, when the judge immediately lifted them. We then had a process of working with SS, but didn't get referred in until probation informed them (we could have informed SS ourselves I guess)

The police can be slow to send to CPS - your solicitor can chase this but you might have a wait of a month or two, then when CPS make the decision perhaps another month until plea hearing

Thanks for the reply, I didn't think it was a common thing but from what I've heard & seen it's not a straight forward process unfortunately. The only thing that scares me now is that after all this time it finally feels like we're going to get an answer, yes I want this to be over and try to move on with our lives but just not knowing is the worst x
