Hi,

I'm sorry to be the bearer of potential bad news. There is no timescale for devices being checked. I'm not sure if the police deliberately lied to me or if they genuinely believed the timescales they gave me were accurate.

In terms of social services they are probably taking that stance as there is nothing to gauge risk from. If your partner had admitted the offence then they would have something to work off. Are they allowing supervised contact but no overnight stays? xxx

I second what Distressed is saying.... it can be a long "investigation".

We're almost 2 years in now.

It took them 1 year to check the devices and the police have been sitting on his forensic report for almost a year now.

When his solicitor last enquired, the OIC just responded back: "The case hasn't been processed yet".

We also have 3 small children, so you would think the police would have more urgency, but no.

It is impossible to say whether he could go NFA or RUI. It depends on if they've found the girl and now have her phone to check, what your partner has said at the interview, if anything can be linked to the chat from his devices.

It's also important to note that often SS will stay involved even when there's an NFA as they work on probabilities, not evidence.
