Hi,

I can pm you. I've been through a divorce and house sale previously. Different circumstances but to the best of my knowledge it should work the same way xx

I would be interested too as that is the route I'm going down too.

I'm also interested, please. I'm currrntly going through divorce and the house is for sale. So far he's being amicable-ish, although often doesn't reply to emails (I assume it's my "punishment" for handing his illegal items over to the police) but I fear things may become unpleasant.

I am going through the same thing. House is for sale as part of the divorce. I am no legal expert but basically the lawyers will look at what joint assets you have (basically anything that can be turned into cash - houses, cars, savings etc). If you are married its basically joint assets that should be split 50/50. But really it comes down to need and housing for the children too.

If you can afford it get good legal advice, although it shocks you how much it costs. Particularly if your husband lost his job like mine. In my case I'm asking for more than half as I'm the one who will have the children at home, so need more bedrooms. In return I won't get any maitenance. But he has to agree to that and appeal to the guilt he might feel. I am not confident he will say yes as he is acting very badly at the moment. 18 months on and i'm so desperare for my fresh start. The house sale is so stressful as no buyer yet and in September our savings run out to pay the mortgage. I am so angry I am loosing my home because of his actions. And that I have to work full time when I actually feel close to a breakdown and need to support my teenage son. Starting to loose hope it will ever get better

We will be selling the house as I believe I need to find somewhere new to live that is just mine to make a fresh start. Very daunting at my age and as I've been told I'm the wrong age to be getting a mortgage - will have to continue working till I'm 70!
