What will happen at second interview?

Hey,
My partner of 3 years got the knock in December, his phone and laptop computer seized, he was arrested for indecent images of his own child based on a report from his ex partner. My ex told me he had just photos of his kids in the bath and running around the house naked and these were just photos he took over the years as they grow up. I do believe in him.
However he was contacted by the OIC earlier this week to attend a second interview next week. This has set my mind going ten to the dozen, have they found something? Do they not have enough evidence so want to see if they can trap him? Does a second interview always mean he will be charged?
Any advice would be helpful, this is a weird investigation as it's his own children, I have never heard of this

In my person's second interview it was to go over anything found. Then to tell him it was being sent to cps and have to wait to hear back from them to find out what the charges will be x
What was his charges ?
My OH's second interview was to tell him what they had found on his devices and that the file would be handed to CPS for a charging decision. They did give him a rough idea of what he would be charged with.
He ended up with 3 counts of making (across all categories) and one of possession (I think I have the making and possession the right way round). CPS decided not to pursue distribution as it was a peer to peer network and therefore difficult to prove.
