Hiya ladies.

Well today marks 2 years since my O/H went to magistrates court and got his charges.
Community service and 5 years on SHPO and SOR.

We moved before it went to court but wasn't in the media.

His brother didn't wanna know him at the start but now all is the new ok.

Myself I have stood by him and will do no doubt till the day he dies. Yes he has been a idiot but he's my idiot.

If I could offer any advice is just take one day at a time.

lots of love xxx

Hi Chelsea,

Thank you so much for sharing this today. My favorite posts are these ones, where people share about life afterwards and offer the rest of us a bit of Hope. X

We are 3 years post sentencing this August and life is different but in some ways better. We know who our true friends are, we know some of our neighbours are brilliant and others are idiots (we could have called all this beforehand to be fair) some family members have been quite disappointing in their reactions and others have come round after the initial shock and support us.

Life for him doesn't revolve around constant socialising and is instead quieter and more focused on things he is interested in. Any social gatherings are looked forward to and enjoyed for what they are rather than being a weekly chore. His drinking has decreased massively which was a factor in what happened.

I still maintain a good friendship circle, not everyone knows but a lot do and treat me no differently.

He still has 7 years of SOR/SHPO to adhere to. We are going abroad for the first time next month. He is beyond excited, I'm apprehensive but everything has been cleared by the PPU. We've had lots of UK breaks since sentencing, both changed jobs and generally kept our heads down and got on with life.

Love to all x
