My person was initially charged with what they thought would be IIOC but it was was a link sent to a girl. He hasn't looked or downloaded any of these images himself, he just knew how to access the dark web. Yesterday he was asked in for a second interview and they pretty much said there wasn't enough evidence on that, however they did find a video a woman sent to him of her with an animal from 2018 and 40 images of anime/cartoon animals (which were deleted years prior but police recovered them in investigation) so want to charge him with this. In 2018, he was struggling with drink and he took themselves to rehab to sort himself out. He's been sober since. They're sending this case to CPS and next week we find out if they'll take it on or not. To me it sounds like the police are clutching at straws because they don't want the funding into his initial investigation being a waste of time, but it's horrible now having this hang over our heads. He's never done anything before, there's not much information online regarding animal images either. Has anyone any idea what we could potentially face regarding court/charges?
