Hi, I’m new here and just wanted some practical advice if possible. My person committed his offence nearly three years ago, but we are still waiting for a sentence as haven’t been given a Crown date yet.

We are about to renew our Home insurance and he is concerned about admitting to his offence to the insurance company and whether that information will remain private.

I know a few of you have used Home Protect and have said that they will offer home insurance to people in our situation. Just wondered if they have stuck to their privacy policy?

He is really concerned this information could get out there as at the minute there hasn’t been any press involvement.

We are with home protect. In line with gdpr they cannot share personal information (obviously if you made a claim for something they'd have to share relevant pieces of information but this is tightly controlled)

Claims history I believe is shared between insurers to combat insurance fraud

We are with Admiral. They ask on the application form if there are any spent convictions but don't want to know the details of the convictions. We now have car and house insurance with them.
