Morning everyone , as the title suggests I don't know what the answer is - just wanted somewhere to air my thoughts today. Its beautiful here on the coast but I can't help feeling sad today because of all this hanging over us. I can normally keep these feelings in their box during the week when I am working but weekends are different - the box has opened this morning - I know it's one day at a time but after last week when my son was targeted in the street I feel nothing but sadness. Obviously I don't condone his behaviour which has led to this situation but can't help wondering how his life is going to pan out now and ours too if I'm honest in the small place that we live. Bail extended again to the end of August and won't be surprised if it's extended again having spoken to the OIC - device still not been looked at. Adjusting to this new normal is bloody hard x sending love and strength to all xx thank you for being there

This journey is so hard and it's still early days for us (6months so far). The uncertainty of what the future holds is always there in the background and it's a rollercoaster of emotions. My person is my husband of 39 years and we should be looking forward to his retirement not worrying about him going to prison. Only people who have been on this horrible journey can have any understanding of how our lives are turned upside down and shattered into tiny pieces. You're doing the right thing by letting your feelings out on here as we all understand xx

I hear you both. It's bloody hard and very lonely.

our lives will never be the same through no fault of our own.

Out of curiosity does anyone know what information is given to our young people in school/college/university. I feel sure info is shared around cyber bullying or on line scammers but wonder what, if any, is given about this scenario and importantly the huge ripple effect it has on those closest to them, in addition to their own futures.

more education and awareness is definitely required.

Ten months for us and totally feel where you're coming from. Agree that airing your thoughts on here where you know people are going to understand is a good thing. We know how you are feeling. Sending you a hug x

Hi Elliot, I know some of how you feel. I'm going through this for a second time. Ex was arrested 26 months ago for the second time. It went to the CPS about 8 weeks ago. We've heard nothing. The ex went to prison last time and he'll be going again. I simply don't know how to find peace because it's such a complicated mess. Just feels so unfair. X

Hi Elliott, I'm sorry to know that today is a difficult day. I too live in a small place where everyone seems to know everyone else's business. We're 9 months post sentencing now and have adapted to our new way of life. Only today we've spent the afternoon on the beach providing the supervision between my son and his children.
Yes I still wake up with anxiety but life feels so much better now. You are not always going to feel this way and in time your life will begin to feel better too.

Yes - Ocean is right, you will be ok Elliot, as your life moves on, and that's a promise. Yes there will definitely be lonely, sad and reflective times all mixed in, but relaxation and happy times to look forward too as well.

still hard when the blips arise but we find ways to adjust and cope. Bless you and one big hug sent x
