Can anyone please advise me

My person had the knock 3 years and 9 months ago why have we not heard anything he had an interview when we had the nock and then went for a second after devises where looked at but that was nearly 3 years ago what happens next. Please could anyone advise me. Police phoned me and said i could have my laptop back because it didn't belong to my him.

I can really empathise with your timeline. Ours was 4years, it is hard being in limbo for so so long!! Especially when some timelines on the forum start and end within the same year.
Our wait was waiting for the device's to be examined but you've said that they finished looking at your persons devices almost 3 years ago. That they did a second interview because they had finished searching them. The next step after they search the devices is to send all the evidence found to the CPS and then the CPS work out what evidence and charges should be sent to court.
My advice would be to call the officer in charge of your persons case tomorrow morning and ask for an update. Or your person call. Ask what stage everything is at. Have they finished searching it all, when did they finish, has it been sent to CPS... Ask what ever you want. You have nothing to lose. Calling them and asking won't change or make anything worse. I delayed calling as although I hated the limbo I was scared for the next stage but that stage comes no matter what, the unknown was torture.
