So the ex's case was heard at the end of April. He was up for 4 years and ended up with a 2 and a half year suspended sentence, 10 years on the SOR, a fine and Community Service. The CPS appealed the lenient sentence and the Court of Appeal ruled in their favour, so it's actually being heard in the Criminal Division of the Royal Courts of Justice in London. Has anyone else had that happen? The CPS is going to push for a custodial sentence I suspect.

Hi Julie, I have no experience of this but just wanted to say that I'm so sorry this has happened. I'm sending you lots of love and strength.

Hi Julie, my understanding is that the maximum length of time for a suspended sentence is 2 years and that anything longer than that cannot be served in the community. That could be what the CPS are challenging.

Hi Ocean, I thinks that's exactly what they're doing. They're pushing for a custodial sentence, and the fact that it's gone to the Court of Appeal, the second highest court in land and being heard in the Royal Courts of Justice makes it sound like this time he isn't going to get away with a custodial sentence.
