Does anyone have any recommendations for parental control or monitoring reporting apps (mostly interested for mobile phones) that are user friendly and are ideally free or a low cost one off payment?

Finances are tight at the moment but I think something that flags up or checks internet/appa/phone use would be helpful where the issue is online related. As a deterrent and also for safeguarding.

My person and I use Kaspersky Safe Kids - not aimed specifically at our problem but good enough for us. It's not too expensive - a one off annual fee.

Another one is Accountable to me but I didn't really like it.

If you search for Accountability Apps in the main Discussion group I'm sure you'll get a lot more ideas popping up.

Hope this helps.

The 'OH' and I agreed on a combination of two, Custodio and Covenant Eyes (the latter's the work of a Christian ethos company, hence the unusual name, but that doesn't matter when using it). They work in quite different ways, so compliment each other. I've also put my children's devices on Custodio as part of a family plan. Ultimately though from what I've read you can get round all these things if techy and determined enough. I more see them as a way of blocking brief moments of weakness in the addiction to legal porn 'OH' has admitted to. I'm still waiting on forensics etc to see if he's being honest regarding not seeking out IIOC. I'd also be wary of them acquiring devices you don't know about.

We've set OHs new phone up with Google parental controls. Just set him up a new Gmail account, and did a redirect on emails from his old account.

It turns off private browsing, I have to approve any apps, can also block websites, so he entered the chat sites he'd been using. It doesn't tell me what websites he's been on, but it certainly helps.

You can do similar with Microsoft accounts too.
