Today is a significant day.

It's my grandmother's funeral and today also marks 2 years since the knock, which happened on July 5th 2022.

The police have been in possession of my husband's forensic report since August last year, so almost a year now.

Since then no update - last time my husband's solicitor enquired we just got a one line reply "The case hasn't been processed yet".

Has anyone else been waiting for 2 years + ?

xx

Hi

First all, I'm sorry for your loss.

In relation to my person, it was almost 3 and a half years from knock to sentencing. I believe COVID had something to do with the the delay.

Once the prosecution and defence agree they can set a court date you tend to start getting more communication from the solicitor in terms of being on 'standby' for a date within a month or so and then you may get a few days notice for the exact date. Until then it's a quiet wait I'm afraid. My person had a plea heading and then 28 day adjournment whilst a pre-setencing report was written. However sentencing was then delayed another 7 months.
