Quietlife inspired me to start this thread by saying she'd had a country walk which made her feel good. What makes you feel relaxed and gives you a little space/relaxation during this journey?

mine would be my new hobby: swimming and the freedom of movement in the water. Also it being my personal time away from it all.......

Good morning Smile...

Me and my hubby are big car enthusiasts and we have a subaru that was actually my wedding car... I know crazy. The thing that is helping us to focus and take our mind off this at the moment is we have decided to gut the car together and rebuild it. We both love cars and we have found doing this together really helps us to switch off for a while and keeps us busy. Our children are staying with their nan and uncle today while me and hubby head off to a Reggae festival with our friends a night out that is very much needed and we are really looking forward to a small bit of normality. The last few weeks waiting for a CPS decision has been really hard and with me sticking by my husband we are hoping a rare night out will help us get our mental health back on track if even for only a few hours xx

Good morning

My relaxation is crocheting. No one is to talk to me while I'm counting or I will lose where I am lol. I'm also knitting a top even though I'm not a knitter, and I need to concentrate even more so that I don't drop any stitches. Crocheting is a lot easier to take back if I make a mistake. I always look forward to every Wednesday when I go to a local knitting and crochet group. It's nice to just switch off for 2 hours once a week. Some of my friends from the group know and some don't, for those that do know there has never been any judgement.

Also, spending time with our granddaughter. Makes us feel like a normal family...

Hi Smile,

My time is a walk by the river or a browse around the shops on my own, maybe a coffee and a bit of people watching.

Home today though cooking a Sunday roast, can't beat roast potatoes and lots of veg

Perfect timing for this post. I am feeling quite down & am finding it difficult to focus on a task.

However just took my self off for a brisk walk, no excuses, and feel somewhat better. My usual happy place is a good swim'kilometre' but blocked ear is delaying that. Otherwise I love to sing with others.

Hi everyone

my escape is my horse. She's the reason I go out the door each morning and get some fresh air. I've also started reading books again.

Mine is line dancing. Took it up last year and never looked back. A couple of hours just worrying where my feet have to go, lol. Made friends who dont know about my life. Also i love walking, walking for miles and usually up a hill or small mountain. To breathe up the top being able to see miles and miles is my happy place. I am lucky to also have my dogs who make me get up each day to look after them and they are always there to give me a cuddle. X

What a great thread. Mine is the beach on a warm, sunny day, my weekly breathing and meditation class and sitting in the garden with a good book.

Smile this is a really timely post as I have just been to a music festival which was fantastic and gave me a real opportunity for some time alone.

I find yoga, drawing and painting all help me immensely and I always have a pile of books to read.

I started attending a Sound Bath session each month whilst my Husband was in Prison and have continued this since his release. I've also stopped drinking and replaced this with CBD infused drinks. I feel much more relaxed and able to cope with the stresses of this journey though I still have the occasional blip x

I love this thread!

For me, during the early days I struggled to stay positive and felt overwhelmed and no longer enjoyed life as I once did. I wasn't able to enjoy the social events/self care I once did due to lack of childcare and I found it hard to listen to podcasts/read books/listen to music as I couldn't concentrate on anything other than the arrest.

I knew I needed to make a change so ordered a positivity diary to help me focus on each month and write down the nice things that had happened, no matter how small, so I could look back at the end of each month and feel a sense of achievement/purpose/happiness. I made sure to book nice things in and slowly but surely I have felt able to read, listen to my favourite podcast (Luanna in case anyone else is a fan!), see friends, get back to the gym. Restrictions regarding contact have slowly eased which has made all of this easier.

I have tickets booked for a show this weekend, I love the theatre :)

Take care all, sending love xx
