Hello! Just after some insight on possibilities of holidays. My partner (22M) was recently sentenced to 12 months for online communication with 5 year SHPO and 10 years on the register. It was a big shock, and everything agaisn't the pre-sentence, they even had the nerve to tell him in the pre-sentence report he wouldn't go to prison, which is unprofessional. But it has brought positives of me having to tell my family who are very supportive of us and me having proper time alone by myself (we've been together since 15)

Anyway, I want to know what life could be like. We loved camping and outdoors, happily in UK national parks and often on campsites or Airbnbs. Abroad would be nice so any advice on that too would be good if possible please.

My partner was sentenced in 2019, two years suspended and 10 years on register a d SHPO.

I had the same worries. We are not campers but I believe some sites will have a clause stating none on register can go. Air bnbs we habe found to be ok. I believe the register requires notifying the police if staying at an address for more than seven nights in any given year - so for long breaks that is something to consider.

We went on holiday in Scotland in a holiday let. We didn't realize it was 'across the road's from a school...he doesn't have conditions to say he can't be within a certain distance but the Scottish police said they might do a surprise visit! They informed us two weeks before our trip with friends (who knows nothing of his conviction). So that was stressful. But they never turned up.

We have been abroad and that was all fine. We checked with the police if they had concerns and they didn't. There are some countries he will never be able to go to- USA and Australia are key ones.

But overall we live normal lives and it is manageable. I would consider how you would navigate family and friends with kids however, especially if your partner has conditions restricting contact.

My partner has a no under 16 clause (which we found out after sentencing was something he could have requested removal, as it doesn't reflect his offending - all non contact offense)

Hello,

My partner is on the SOR for 10 years with a SHPO and had 2 years suspended. We are 3 years in and just back from our first overseas trip. No issues at all, just the e-gate said seek assistance and he had to go to a manned desk where he was just waved through.

I hope this helps x

We are going end of August in the country. Looked terms and conditions the place where are going it looks like he won't be aloud to go. He as is first court appearance Thursday.

This is what it says

"10.4.8 Permit anyone who is to your knowledge on the Violent and Sex Offender Register or subject to a Risk of Sexual Harm Order or a Child Abduction Warning Notice (or any register, order or notice succeeding these) to use or visit the Caravan."

so I'm going ask the solicitor on thirsday and see what they say. We are campers and we love camping :(
