It's pretty much just a tick box exercise as the children aren't having contact with their dad. Unfortunately if you decline their services then they won't do the assessment needed for the prison to allow contact. You can mention at the visit that you don't understand what benefit the visits have for you and the children. I'd possibly word it in a way that shows that you could understand if the children were having contact with their father especially while it's the holidays from school. Perhaps give them details of any holiday clubs the children will be attending if any to let them know that professionals have eyes on your children xxx
