How many weeks did your person after sentencing, wait to start community service

Did they have to travel to different part off country

Where they measured for a uniform

Hi Poppop

My son started his community service about 2 weeks after sentencing following an initial assessment by the Probation Officer which I think was to gauge fitness level etc.

He didn't have to travel out of the area (although I think he could have requested to do so) and he didn't have to wear a uniform only old clothes and a hi- viz jacket which had community service written on the back so it was all very low key.

He opted to get the hours done quickly so he was there 5 days for 2 weeks and he said that overall he was treated fairly by the people supervising the group

My oh was around 2 months to begin community service due to mental health and he requested to complete his out of the area we live, as working 5 days per week it's taken a bit longer to complete than he would like but 180 hours he has 42 hours left so hopes to have it completed before end of August that will be 6 months since sentence, people who organise them has been great he has just kept his head down and done all that is asked

He done two probation meetings, next one is when they go to his house

With my son having autism it makes things harder for him he did say his probation officer understands

My person waited about 6 weeks. He did it in our local area and the groups were carefully chosen. Although it wasn't discussed he was able to work out that several of the other people in his group were also there because of sexual offences. When my son asked if he could do some hours at the weekend he was told no as the people in that group were not so easy to get along which reassured me that the probation service were looking after him.
My son had to do 300 hours and really benefitted from it. His confidence grew and he was forced to leave the house and mix with others. He also received positive feedback through probation that some of the other men had reported back that he'd helped them when they were struggling which really helped his self esteem.
