The Huw Edwards thread has certainly jerked many of us. One area raised has been - remembering the victims ---/. I'm confident each and every one of us never ever forget the victims. The shame that someone I bought into this world could do such a thing will live with me forever and I'm the innocent one! (I'll add here I'm not a nieave parent looking after her mummy's boy)!!!!!
But i just hate how my son was portrayed in the media as a no good P. He is a loving, kind, sensitive caring man. He had never broke the law and a hard worker throughout. But none of this was stated - it's just ripped away, by our cold/callus media that have the power to rip people's lives to shreds.
My son took an horrendous path and he's certainly paying the price for the choices he made and will continue to do so.... I have stood stoically by him as I believe he can rehabilitate and move on and never do this again. I could be wrong - the cogs of life chug on and no one can predict the future.
i am so proud of the families on this forum that despite their personal pain they grapple on to keep their children/ broken families together each and every day..... so proud...... you are certainly diamonds.....

I am dreading it being in the media. As yet my OH's case hasn't been reported on.
I am supporting him as he has been incredibly stupid and what the judge said about him in crown court (that he's attracted to children) is untrue. As one of my friends said he has made a big mistake that has affected all of us, but that doesn't mean he's a bad person. Our daughter's have been brilliant and are standing by him too. He is lucky to have us.

I hear everything you say Smile, such an horrendous journey but we know our person and we know our own stories.
I do believe with these crimes massively on the increase that there needs to be more understanding and less condemning. We certainly are dreading any media but will solder on and conquer the next obstacle. We never forget there are victims but people should understand that most of the men doing these crimes have such awful stories in their own lives that led them here, they need help and not just to be locked away in already over crowded prisons with the British media further ripping them and their families lives to shreds

Please don't let me frighten anyone - media attention is not a dead cert and in a lot of cases there's no media or repercussions x
You haven't frightened me Smile, I already see how the media twist the knife with these, and indeed most crimes. I've seen so many recently in the news about "predators" and the "P" word. My person would never harm anyone, only himself. Fingers crossed we avoid any extra heartache .

absolutely spot on smile, I know my family member , it hurts how now he's portrayed as the p word because of thr media ..they made his situation million times worse by leaving information out that would have confirmed what we've as a family have Been truthful on I find it so sad the one online article can destroy a family and the sad thing is they fo not care , I contacted them and said everything I needed to but they did not care they said they would remove the street address I Said there is no point in it as the damage Is done, yes write your story but don't manipulate it to suit your headline you've destroyed a family and their home by twisting thr narrative again they do not care .xx
