Hi all

So partners case has now gone to CPS and we are waiting next steps.

Can anyone enlighten me on what to expect. Naively I'm hoping it could mean the end is very much round the corner but realistically I very much doubt that.

I have a 13 year old boy from a previous relationship and a 3 week old baby fathered by the accused.

SS are curently involved and he will be paying for supervised contact with his son, we are still together and i am supporting him, with the pregnacy absolute hell due to medical needs and the fact that I am now living home alone with a teen who has special needs and a new born I am pulling my hair out, I'm meant to be enjoying my maternity leave.

Unfortuantly IIOC was found in all categories and I'm praying for a miracle.

Help me prepare myself please!

Hi,

After about a month of it being sent to CPS, we received the charges by post (around 6 weeks after being notified it went to CPS). It contained all charges in a pack. We went to magistrates for please hearing around a month after that and then around a month after plea hearing in magistrates it was sentencing in crown court.

We found from charges coming through, things moved pretty fast considering arrest was Feb 2022.

We don't have children so unfortunately I can't say much on SS, but hope this helped. X

After the OIC sent the report to the cps it took another 8 weeks for them to make a decision. Hubby then received a text from the OIC asking him to go in to the police station for an update on the investigation. He was charged when he went to the station and given a court date in 8 weeks time for his plea hearing. That's as far as we have got at the moment xx

Hi Amyethyst,

It was 'making' in all categories including 'extreme'. He was given 12 months suspended sentence.

Hope this helps x

Hi, my persons case went to the CPS three months ago and we haven't heard anything since. However, I'm fully expecting a custodial because that's what he got when he was first convicted. Three years for IIOC first offence. I think he was treated harshly last time. I've no idea what's going to happen this time but I know I'll be left to look after our Autustic son on my own. I wish you all the best. X

Thank you all.

Looking at these responses it really depends on lots of things!

Police believe partner was the ringleader for the online site.

He's never made any items but has all categories and alot of them, terabytes unfortunately.

Will they look into if images were opened?

Partner says he is/was a collector (i must take note when he says something like that) and often did not open images and just liked to see the numbers increase and so often did not open them just clicked the link to download and then moved them.

I want him to tell them the site etc to get it off the net, hopefully get them some help and to help support his case.

Hi Amythest,

My ex downloaded a huge file that contained within it grade A images. He claimed he never looked at those images. However, the solicitor said it was irrelevant whether he opened them or not. The fact was he downloaded them. I'm not saying this information is 100% correct, maybe someone else knows. X

It took my partner one month to get magistrates date after receiving cps decision. Went to crown a month after that. All dealt within 1 year of the knock.

he also had all categories, images and videos, 'making' and distribution (through Omegle which I'm pleased to see has been banned!). He had thousands, I think 800 Cat A alone (they stopped counting at 10,000).

He got 18 month suspended 2 years. 10 year SOR and SHPO (no mention of supervised contact with children as his lawyer got it removed). Also community service and iHorizon. No media so very few people know of the offence. His life is now very normal (although he doesn't have kids which helps that).

Hopefully this provides some reassurance.
