How many of you have had SS come back into yours lives after sentencing? My partner received community service only and we haven't heard from SS for nearly 18 months now. Am I supposed to contact them? Will they contact me again? We were left with a plan that no personal care and not to be left unsupervised with children, which we have stuck to the whole time but will this be lifted?

Thank you x

Hi,

my OH got a suspensed sentence and was put on the SOR.
We had SS visit once after but that was because the probation officer contacted me and then went back and told SS a total pack of lies about how I was welcoming back into the house. Totally not true. Luckily I had a good relationship with the SS and she was happy with what I'd said and closed the case.
Still to this day I don't know why the probation officer did that, I rang up to complain and they did apologise, the only thing I think is that we are just numbers and there case loads are high and they get mixed up. Which is hugely frustrating when it's our lives that they are messing with.

Hi,

I had a phone call 6 weeks after sentencing to check that the plan was working for us (daughter was born the week of sentencing). We then went back to them after 18 months to make changes to the plan to allow me to supervise on my own. We're going back again in a few months to update them on our plan for him to return to living with us xxx

I contacted them and told them he'd be sentenced and that I had decided to progress with the relationship and Im now having assessments. If they arent moving in or spending more time around the children then you dont need to do anything, only if something in your plan has changed

Good luck distressed and pregnant. It really isnt easy getting them back home regardless of what probation led us to believe.

My person has been home for 18 months. I'd like the unsupervised bit to be lifted so I can actually go out on my own finally, but also don't want to rock the boat with SS. I'll wait and see if they contact me over the next couple weeks, if not I'll contact them x
