My persons plea hearing is soon... the days seem like theyre dragging but then again im not wanting them to end as i know the next day is just another day closer. I got too comfortable in the limbo phase and im worried about whats to come.

Can anybody tell me what the plea hearing is like? Did anybody end up in the media at the plea hearing? My person has also been told he could *possibly* be sentenced at the plea hearing, has this happened to anybody here? If not, how long after pleading guilty did you wait for sentencing?

Thank you

This phase is horrid, so sorry it's dragging.

i didn't go to the plea hearing, so can't tell you about that.

i do know that the judge offered to sentence my person then and they declined as their lawyer advised getting a pre-sentencing report first.

the plea hearing did make the media, but there wasn't a photo, so no one seemed to have noticed it.

the press were waiting at sentencing, they got a photo and my phone lit up that night.

be sure to shut down all your social media and google his name to be sure that he's shut everything down. The press will try to use any photo they can find and this definitely makes a difference to the amount of clicks a story gets.

wishing you all the best and I hope this goes smoothly for you.

Xx

I didn't go to the plea hearing. My person said it was very quick. Just confirming name and such details and then the plea. Due to his charges it has to go court, which was a month later

I agree to shut down social media as it is ne er really known if media will report. They didn't report my person and I suspect it was because he wasn't living in the area anymore

The days leading up to plea hearing are hard but we're here to support you.

My son spent far longer at the court in the waiting room than he did in the actual court. His plea hearing lasted about 20 minutes. He was told to sign the SOR register within 3 days and was given the date for sentencing.

The media reported the story that evening on line and in the paper the following week. There was no photo though as he'd come off social media as soon as he was arrrsted.

Thinking of you
