Hi, hope you are all okay.
Re-posting here to see if anyone has any wisdom, as I initially posted in legal section.
I was wondering if anyone knows the process better than me!
We had the knock for my 15 year old son about 7-8 weeks ago now. On the day at the house 2 of the officers went up to speak to my son, they said at this point they are mainly concerned about wellbeing and sexual orientation, so they went to talk to him without one of us present. Then half way through the 2 officers who were downstairs looking through my sons phone must have found something, one went up and stood on the landing whispering to her colleague.
The officer then went back into my sons room and apparently read him his rights. I'm thinking this should have been disclosed to us at this point so he had the opportunity to have one of us present with him?
I feel this could be a breach of PACE? But the information is all a bit overwhelming online.

Hi Crushed, I'm sorry your post got missed in the other section. Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question as my son was an adult when arrested. Hopefully someone else on here may know the answer but if not my suggestion is to contact the LFF helpline for advise or maybe Unlock as they may be able to help you with your question.
