Life after the knock (moving on)
Notifications OFF
Well we had the knock one evening in March 2022. They said they had to take my husband into custody for questioning with regards to an online chat and IIOC.
I was left to deal with 2 very inconsiderate rude police officers who then left and 2 more eventually turned up and searched our property they took various things away with them they finally finished in the early hours of the morning.
My husband was questioned but whilst this was happening they were also sending social services around to my sons house to tell them what was happening and this of course caused problems as I no longer had contact with my grandchildren .I would have told them what was happening I just wasn't given the chance . Also whilst he was being questioned an officer was calling me and asking me questions which I found out were ones they had asked my husband who was adviced to give a no comment interview. Sneaky but we had nothing to hide .
My husband was released on bail which lasted a month then released under investigation . We never heard another thing from the police until they called me to say they had found something on one of his items and they would now be sending it off to forensics which confused us as we were told this is what was being done after his interview. I was also told at some point he would be invited back for another interview of course once again they told my sons before us . But they also said it would be months before anything else happens. I asked why has it taken so long all I get is oh we are busy.
This morning we were sat having our usual coffee and I looked at my husband who was reading something on his phone and he burst out crying my first thought was oh no who had died but no....it was a letter from his Solicitor with a copy of a letter from the police saying NO FURTHER ACTION.
My husband always proclaimed his innocence and I believed him and I stood by him. We have been to hell and back and now I just hope bridges can be built with the family . I always used to respect the police but now I've seen another side of them and how they can destroy a family

Mis-shape, I'm so sorry to know you've been through such a traumatic experience and so very pleased for you that you've now come through it and your OH has been cleared. I'm sure it will be difficult to move on from all you've had to deal with but the outcome you've received is the one we've all dreamt, hoped and prayed for at some time. I wish you both all the very best for the future.
