Today visit was so different to our normal weekend visits,

They call it a family visit, they do them every 3 months for enhanced guys

Same visitors hall , same set up table and chairs , the biggest difference was HC was allowed to go to the canteen area with us, it was so strange the 3 of us been able to choose our food, he wasnt allowed to hold the pennies, we were in the queue ordering , he was a bit apprehensive (emotional) it was the first time in 3 years he said it almost felt like he was in a proper shop choosing what he wanted (aww heart string moment for me)

He wasnt holding back on his consumption :-)

6 crumpets

2 slices of toast

Sausage roll (only ate half as it want great)

Slice of margarita pizza

Bar of fruit &nut dairy milk

Chocolate pastry

Shared a packet of drumstick chewy sweets

2 more crumpets

Slice of chocolate cake

A bar of dairy milk ( one of the guys he gets on well with was in the vist got his mum to buy it for him)

That was so lovely, so I said to HC we need to get him something, he picked a bag of maultesers, so I got them and gave them to him with a hug x

We did a quiz, played a board game, passed on table tennis though

We had a photo taken, now the rules have changed if HC wants a copy then he is not allowed to look directly at the camera it has to be a side pictureof him , if he dosent have a copy then me and his sister can have one with us all looking directly ahead , we went for tha latter one, we pick it up on our next visit,

We had just a lovely few hours together and of course lots of hugs and hugs for my dear friend Smile and our boy as always xx

That sounds like a wonderful visit, I can just imagine how emotional you must have felt when HC was allowed to choose his own shopping. And of course he hasn't let us down with his food consumption. How lovely that his friend got his mum to buy him a bar of chocolate and you were able to return the gift.

The visit sounded lovely. Sometimes its the smallest thing that can make something emotional. I am glad it went well.

Why cannot he look at the camera in the photo that he can have?

That's wonderful Upset, why shouldn't the men be allowed to 'move' - what's gunna happen? I love how you have a cuddle for me and my boy as you know how much I miss him, you are truly an angel.

i think emotions will surface in a heartbeat as the men feel any hint of freedom. It all ought to be more open during family visits, after all they are suppose to encourage good family relationships When I hear men are locked up for so long (an hour a day outside their cell) is diabolical, these are human beings!

im just glad my son is on a quiet wing of the prison and gets on with his cell mate, plus long spells of being 'unlocked' - under the circumstances I couldn't ask for more.....

so glad you will have a treasured photograph and over the moon you got this special visit xxxx
