Hello All,
After the HE saga yesterday I also wanted to vent my anger at the outcome and subsequent sentencing. Firstly I believe he had a more lenient outcome because his sentencing happened in the magistrate court and not the crown court?? How on earth was this allowed given the severity of his behaviour and why not a SHPO?? My husbands offences were much less, there was no contact offence, no evidence of searching, no engagement in any communication etc yet he received a 10 year SOR and SHPO and he was informed his case "had" to be dealt with in the Crown Court, he was also told there had to be a punitive effect and he was tagged for 4 months and received a 12 month suspended for 18 month sentence. The justice system in this country reeks, there are too many variables in sentencing. I have no intention of letting this rest. I am sick and tired of people telling me it's yesterdays news and nobody will talk about it tomorrow etc, from my point and I'm sure many others it's todays and tomorrow's news too, every time a privileged so call celebrity becomes main news it totally triggers me.
Sorry for the rant but I've hardly slept last night thinking about the whole situation again.
Love to all today and in particular those really struggling.

I have found all the news reports on Huw really distressing but what is worse is the comments on TikTok and other social media. So much so I have blocked accounts who post about it. My oh was possession, all cats. He got 20 months suspended for 2 years, 150 hours unpaid work, 10 years sor and SHPO and 45 days horizon course. I find the horizon course a waste of resources though! He waited 3 and half years to get to sentencing and hadn't offended since the knock. He doesn't even look at regular porn he was that traumatised by the knock. I can't see how the course would be of benefit. I stayed with my partner but it's been the most horrific time. I do feel sorry for Huws family. It's plastered everywhere, his poor wife must be devasted
The no SHPO was a shock, a colleague who doesn't know my situation mentioned it today and I had to stay calm. I did use the opportunity to say this is happening more than anyone knows and to lots of families and it just doesn't get discussed. Even if images were sent unsolicited the receiver can still end up in serious trouble.
I found the coverage yesterday horrendous, Jeremy Vine had an impromptu call in and I was so tempted to ring up and rollock him for using the p word. Saying how awful it was for the families of the offenders but using inflammatory language at the same time.
My OH had 12 images across all categories, not searched for, mass download of files so guilty of possession. He ended up at crown with 2 years suspended, 10 year SOR and SHPO. No horizon as not eligible.

I totally agree, even given the mitigating circumstances it is very lenient.
My OH has 10 years SOR and 5 years SHPO. I too have been very triggered by the whole case. I shouldn't read what all the comments say in newspaper articles and social media posts.
It has certainly led to a sleepless night last night. I hate being in this club that I never wanted to be in, I know that applies to all of us as we navigate through.
