Annoyed ((yet again) as comments fly about how guidelines should be more clear when sentencing sex offenders, how so many are walking free when should be in custody (blah blah)...... same old....

Why aren't people informed of the sex offender (only) prisons all over the country as far as the Isle of Wight are full with no movement? Question why this crime is on a massive increase and the reasons. Why not encourage people to seek to find help at the beginning of their behaviour and pointer to where to go. More education on internet porn for our youngsters. Perhaps even 'trying' to kerb this stuff being so easily available in the first place.

This subject is just not faced is it?

its just a witch hunt all the time and it makes me so angry.

Had I been faced with what in facing now as a theoretical challenge a few weeks ago (pre knock) I'd have said I would have had the reaction of so many in the public.

since the knock I have had my world blown open. In terms of what I have learned and read these past few weeks I am inclined to agreed. I think there needs to be so much more awareness and prevention to stop the cycle of these images being out there. Completely changed my mindset.

Smile through tears, I hear you!

Before this happened to my family, I probably wouldn't have thought too much about all this. I agree much more needs to be done to tackle this issue. There is so much misery and suffering surrounding this issue- the child victims whose abuse is immortalised on the Internet, the families of these men who commit these crimes and for these men themselves. I had no idea how easy it is to access this stuff and I'm deeply afraid for the next generations for whom the Internet is known to them since birth. I have no real idea of what's being done to remove these iioc from the Internet. I'm not saying that nothing is being done - I just don't know what is. Are there clear guidelines for what happens if someone happens upon an image, for example? This could all be my complete ignorance but i doubt I'm alone. Name calling, etc. achieves very little that's positive as it does nothing constructive to actually deal with this problem.

I feel both angry and afraid. So I hear you.

I totally agree, there really does need to be so much more done and as you said pre knocks it was never really something I every really though about or looked on too. However post knocks the amount of support avaliable for us as victims in this is terrible and appalling (this is the only support avaliable in my area.)

The amount of support to our persons is terrible.

The amount of doing nothing to stop any of this happening in the future is also terrible. How can there be a safeguarding for the children in these videos/photos (it really scares me so very much.)

I totally agree with other comments, I feel there should be more support out there, with therapies attached and an open focus on getting more things done to stop this behaviour from ever happening. I.e. getting children more education on do not do this....

Also if there was more support for friends/families in general maybe these things could have been nipped in the bud before it ever even gets to the Knock on the door!!

I just think this whole topic and situation, has really opened my eyes and not only is there so much more that could be done out there and isn't, there is so much more education that could be done to support those who don't know, who are in need or just to inform children of what not to do, and if they feel they need help where to go to.

Anyways sorry I'm rambling, but I do agree.
