USA travel with SHPO, with US partner
Notifications OFF
Hi,
The general view seems to be that travel to the USA with a conviction for IIOC and with a SHPO is usually impossible, but has anyone actually managed to do it, by getting a waiver of inadmissibility?
In particular, if the offender is married to a US citizen has anyone got the waiver on the basis of the condition that 'denial of the immigrant's admission to the US would cause extreme hardship to the spouse'.
We're just looking/hoping for a success story to raise our hopes, and then hopefully get some advice on how best to proceed down that route. Are there any good lawyers to help make any applications as likely to succeed as possible?
Thanks you!

Hello USPartner
I am also interested as to any success stories as prior to my husbands conviction we had plans to travel to the US. I have been scouring the Unlock website who provide information with regards to decalaration of convictions etc and the consequences of people being found out if they don't declare. I myself prefer to be open and upfront and am considering applying to the US embassy for a travel visa, I'm not holding my breath for success but you would have to present a good case to be successful, you don't need any legal representation to do this however they may request references from the police/probation etc. Saying all that, even with a visa they do state there is no guarantee you will be allowed entry at immigration, so unless like yourself I hear to the contrary I would rather hear there have been successful attempts before I go ahead with an application.
Hopefully someone will post soon to say they have been approved.

Consult an experienced immigration attorney who specializes in waivers to evaluate your case and guide you through the process.
We were also on vacation in the USA in Florida and we liked it a lot. We are still thinking of going to a company that deals with vacations and we like what they propose and how the previous vacation was organized. They offer full details about everything and are on the wire if we have any questions.
