My OH met with the probation today for his pre-sentencing report and came away feeling better than he has been. We know it is all down to the judge on the day, but he is feeling more positive.

Hi Dawn

My OH felt the same after his meeting, he said she was firm but fair and someone he could work with to become a better person.

Like you it's all down to the judge on the day. His sentencing has been changed again, this is the third date we have now, still got two weeks to wait.

Thank you Distressed.

Lonely - that's what my OH said. Why does his sentencing keep getting changed, is it because the pre-sentence report isn't ready? I'm hoping my OH's doesn't get changed, it's half term and means I don't have to ask for time off from work. Also does the solicitor attend court with him for sentencing? We haven't heard anything from the solicitor since the plea hearing.

Hi Dawn

The date kept changing because of the probation officer being on holiday as well as at first he was a 'warned' case which means we were given a week that the case may be heard. But now he has a firm date in Oct so fingers crossed it doesn't get changed.

Yes his solicitor will be going with him. The solicitor will also ensure that OH is treated fairly plus think they will also argue if the SHPO has unreasonable terms.

I'm dreading the day due to the unknown but can't wait for the day to be over.

Hope all goes well with you x

Fingers crossed it doesn't get changed again and it will soon be over x

My OH solicitor didn't make sure that he was treated fairly at his plea hearing, so if he gets the same one at his sentencing I don't think he will be treated fairly x

My son had a meeting with his new probation officer a few weeks back who will support him through his parole and fingers crossed eventual release.

He was very positive and said they dont set people up to fail - even organised his phone number to be authorised so my son can call him anytime - even for just a chat.
I know it gave my son a huge boost.
