Hello - my OH have recently been charged with a community order and the judge also order a payment of around £314 (which actually represent two payments: one of £200 for the court case and another of £114 of victim charge although it was a police decoy)

To be paid within 2 weeks from day of sentencing.

Thank you for the reply. If it gets referred to crown court do you still have a magistrates fine to pay. Or do you get fined later

T2021 x

I have no idea as to why the court applies a fine, my son was given a custodial and then about 6 weeks later he got a fine through the post, it wasnt a high cost (under £300) x

T2021 - in my OH case and for what I understood the £200 pounds covered the magistrate and crown court fine. The judged imposed it at Crown Court as part of his sentencing and I think they will also take into account his financial situation because he did mention and also confirm with his barrister that he was able to pay this amount within the 2 weeks.

My husband received the fine of £300 by list within 2 days pist sentencing. He paid it immediately. We were told it was a standard charge.

My son received a fine of just under £600. The judge said he had a year to pay it but when it came through the post it had to be paid for in a month.

The fine is given as part of the sentencing so will be a crown court if that is where sentencing will take place.

Wishing you all the best.
