Sentencing at crown court today

Hi, my OH had his sentencing today. He was given 9 months sentence suspended for 2 years, 35 hours of a rehabilitation activity requirement (RAR), 5 years SOR and 5 years SHPO.
We got the impression that the judge wanted to give my OH a custodial sentence but probation recommended not to, as the judge made a point of saying that my OH is attracted to children and was not happy because he didn't admit to it to probation. He wasn't going to admit to something that isn't true and lie in court. The judge also wanted to give him unpaid work and was disappointed that he couldn't because of my OH's medical condition. My OH said he would be able to do light unpaid work but probation said there wouldn't be anything available.
His solicitor never showed up which we aren't surprised about as we haven't heard from them since the hearing in July.

You have both been in my thoughts today xx
Take time for yourselves, breathe and know we are there for you xx

Take some time to process and be kind to yourselves over the next few days. I'm annoyed on your behalf at the judge's comment, they are not psychologists and shouldn't make such statements xxx
Thank you for sharing and sorry to read about your solicitor letting you down, and the judge being unnecessarily, erm, judgemental (I couldn't think of a better word).
hope you are able to relax this weekend and catch your breath

Thank you. It has made it into the media and made my OH sound like such a bad person x
I've sent you a message Dawn19 xx
Thank you for sharing. Sorry it was picked up by the media. Hopefully you can move forward now x
Hey Dawn I hope your being kind to yourself today x
@Dawn19,
Are you sure it is 5 years on the SOR? They only give that if the sentance was a community order. If the sentance was 0-6 months, it's 7 years and 6-30 months it's 10 years.
SHPO's have a minimum of 5 years but may not be for the length of the SOR, but usually is.

My oh had 15 months suspended for 2 years and he got 5 years sor/shpo
How are you getting on Dawn? Any backlash from the media? I hope not. Hope you are doing ok
@Nightmare
Yes, was definitely 5 years on the SOR. The judge queried whether it would be 5 years or 10 years, and decided on 5. I don't think he knew what he was doing.
@Ellbee
I'm doing okay. No backlash from the media yet. Was reported in the city paper, can't see anything in the local town paper.
We have received a fine in the post today, to be paid within the month, which was not mentioned at court. My OH also received an email from his 'solicitor' stating his sentence which also doesn't mention a fine. The solicitor also sent a survey. I've told him to fill it in but he says he doesn't want to.
