Hi all,

Months back i sent an email to my local MP in regards to the police allowing a riot to happen at my family members home where it eas attacked , it was organised as a peaceful protest and was anything but!!! I wanted to know how the police stood there and allowed her home to be attacked , why an apparent peaceful protest was allowed when innocent tenneager stays there it traumatised us as a family , didn't think I would get much answers and was too scared to make a complaint to the police as didn't want it all dragged up again or anything in the media as the village loves to sit on social media and attack people without knowing the truth, anyway when the new government come around the MP changed and our new one responded to my email , he said that he has sat down recently with the police for discussions in these vigilante groups happening or being allowed , he hasn't given me the actual outcome or what they spoke of but I did ask if there was any further information going forward for protection of family members in these instances which I have there is as we are secondary victims in these situations and there was no protection for my relative or her teenager, I'm just glad to know that my local MP is maybe trying to do something about this , too late for my family but if something is done to help others then I would welcome that

Hello,

Thank you for posting on the Family and Friends Forum, we understand that it is not easy to post on a forum about these difficult situations. I can see that you have not yet had a reply on your post, hopefully someone else in a similar situation can reply soon with some support.

If you haven't already done so, I would also encourage you to contact our Stop it Now helpline. The helpline is anonymous, confidential and free, on 0808 1000 900. One of our trained advisors will then be able to explore your situation in detail and provide some support and do their best to answer your questions. Our trained advisors deal with similar concerns to yours every day and will be able to talk these through with you and offer you the best advice we can.

I hope this has been helpful.

Take care,

Lucy
