Does anyone know what is the maximum amount I can pay into the idiots prison account?

I don't think there's a limit you can put in their spends account.

But there is a limit on how much they can spend per week, which depends on their status.

Thanks Smile.

I'm guessing the £30 cash he had on him in court will be added to his account too?

Yes, the £30 cash should be added to the idiots account. X

Evening Lost

The maximum is £500 that can be paid in to a prisoner account

As Smile mentions if they are enhanced the can have a maximum of £33 a week drawn from their private account to their canteen account

Also pending on there job it can mean the wages are anything from £8 -£13 a week

My son is enhanced and where he is he can draw down £200 every 3 months

It seems there is a variety of experience in this area (as with everything to do with this type of offence). My person took £200 cash with him in his prison bag in a sealed, labelled envelope. This was never added to his account, and when he was moved between prisons, he realised that it wasn't in his possessions. He reported it stolen, and it quickly came to light through CCTV evidence that the prison guards who initially took him in had stolen the money. It was refunded, but our understanding is that no action was taken against the prison guards who stole it. Interesting isn't it - that such dangerous criminals are being guarded by thieves? How does that align with the supposed rehabilitation that is supposed to go on in prison (and which in our experience through prison and post-release has been non-existent)?

We transfer £140 per fortnight & our son is allowed to spend £60 per week on 'Canteen ' items.

Thank you all for your replies.

I don't know if/when I can add any funds, because I've been told by the bank that if I use his card then technically/ legally it is theft!! I told her he had given me his cards and PIN number etc, but she said unless I have something in writing from him to say I can use his account etc, then it is theft.

I had to ask the bank something else and that is when I mentioned about me setting up a direct debit from his account for something.......good job I asked!
