HI all
I asked a few weeks ago how long it took for CPS to make a decision in 'your' case but now I would like to know how long it took AFTER the CPS make their decision for things to happen and also what steps happens next? Also what part of country? Thank you x

Hello! For us after CPS everything was very quick. My OH got a date for the plea hearing on the day he went to get his charges which it was more or less scheduled on the following month. After his plea (it was a guilty plea) he got his sentencing date which was again the month after.
After charge from Cps it was 8 weeks to magistrates to be indicted to crown court then another 6 weeks to plea hearing at crown court (not guilty plea) and we have now been given A trial start date in August 2026 xx
Arrested and charged after cps report 4 weeks to magistrates for guilty plea 4 weeks sentencing northeast
Bump x
So it looks like it takes about 1 month for magistrates court and then another month for crown court? x

This was roughly the timeline for my OH

Hi all
If you haven't replied to this yet I would like it if you do as I'm putting together a list of average times regarding CPS such as how long for a decision and how long after etc as I think this will be helpful for others in the future x

1 month for plea hearing and 1 month for sentencing.
1 month from charges to Magistrates for plea hearing then given a date in 1 month for sentencing but this was postponed so it was 2 months in the end.
5 YEARS on no condition bail.
Less than 12 months from the knock to charge, but it took 5 years from knock to sentencing.

I month for plea hearing at magistrates, then another month at crown court as he was 'advised' to plead not guilty by the solicitor. After the crown court the judge wanted him to change his plea, which he did, then it was 3 months until sentencing x
10 month from knock to plea hearing then 6 weeks to sentencing
3 weeks from Plea to sentencing
