My person has just received a bail extension email from officer in charge. It says in the email that they have put in for an extension "as we have a number of outstanding enquiries on your investigation". When asked what they mean by outstanding enquires, they replied "I have further enquiries I need to pursue"and that's it.

could anyone please advise on what that means? They have just recently emailed to say the devices have been sent through to forensics. Does this mean they have found more evidence?

Feeling more nervous than ever now.

Could be anything, but probably they are just waiting for it to come back from forensics.

My OH has had his bail put back three times now and as you can only be on bail for so long he's now been released on pending further enquiries as still waiting to get his devices back

The likelihood is they are waiting on devices, just because they're sent for forensics doesn't mean anything has been found, most officers won't have the ability to download a laptop, so they have to get the whole thing forensically downloaded then they review each download. Unfortunately it takes a lot of time and if on bail they will just extend the bail until the downloads are back and have been reviewed. The whole idea of 3month bail was to cut down the time frames of suspects waiting so long, but they put in they can be extended so now it's the norm for that to happen!

It sounds to me as if they OIC has used a generic extension of bail email, try not to over think it too much xx
