Challenges Following 'the Knock' Survey
Notifications OFF
Dear Forum Users,
As an organisation, we are always keen to learn about the experiences of partners, ex-partners, family and friends following ‘the knock’. We are currently seeking to gather insights into the challenges faced by those who use our services to broaden our knowledge and understanding of this often traumatic event.
To assist with this, we have created an anonymous survey that we would like to invite you to complete. This survey includes questions about the main challenges you have faced, the impact this has had on you and your family, the support you have been offered since ‘the knock’, and how helpful you have found it to be.
The information from this survey will be used to inform and develop the services we currently offer, and consider areas that we can improve.
If you have any questions about this survey or its purpose, please do not hesitate to contact forum@lucyfaithfull.org.uk
Thank you in advance for any contribution.
Kind regards,
The Forum Team

Hi LFF, and thank you for taking time to create this survey. By way of an alternative to asking forum users to expend more of their extremely limited time and depleted energy on populating a survey, would it be possible for you to instead collate the information you're looking for directly from the forums? There are already reams and reams of information already expressed in incredible levels of detail, eloquence, and absolutely from the heart already on this forum on the areas you outline as being of interest. Either way, please can you confirm if the information you collate will be made available for forum users to see (all anonymous of course). Thank you.
Dear InTatters,
Thank you very much for your reply and suggestion. We apologise for not providing more context about our approach, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify and offer more information about our processes.
Firstly, we want to assure you that we are reviewing the challenges faced by our forum users in the existing threads and posts on the forum. As you mentioned, there is already a lot of information existing on the forum, and we appreciate how openly and honestly you are writing about your experiences. Given the vast number of posts and activity on our forum, we are concerned that we may miss some important insights and points. We decided to invite our users to complete this survey, to supplement the existing knowledge gained from the forum and in the hope to give a more structured overview that will highlight common themes and challenges more comprehensively. Furthermore, many of our forum users are not registered users, or do not feel able to share their situation publicly on the forum for various reasons. It is important that these individuals also are heard, who do not feel able to post but instead contribute by sharing their challenges in an anonymous survey.
We understand that your time and energy are limited, and we are mindful that some of the survey questions may bring up some difficult memories and emotions. We hope that those of you who feel able to complete this survey will do so, it’s entirely optional and voluntary, and we respect each forum user’s choice to participate in completing this survey or not.
Finally, we want to reassure you that we intend to share the findings from this anonymous survey with our forum users. We will also share how these insights will impact the development of our services.
Kind regards,
The Forum Team

I'm happy to complete the survey but can't open the survey page as the link doesn't appear to be working. Has anyone else managed to open it?
Hi Ocean I can't open it either x
Hello,
Thank you for bringing it to our attention that the link to the survey was not working. We have now resolved this and it should be working again. We’d also like to thank everyone who has taken the time to respond to the survey so far.
Kind regards,

I have filled in the survey and was happy to express my gratitude to this wonderful forum and its users. Over the years it's given me the portal to a world of support in what is a horrible journey. Basically 'kept me on track'.
I am eternally grateful for this and the work that is done.

I've just completed this survey and I just want to say thank you for continuing to listen to us and what is important for us as secondary victims in these horrible situations. I echo the sentiment of orhers of this charity / forum being a total life line and I'd go as far as life saving. So grateful for all the work you do.
