Hey,
my persons file was passed to CPS in September and we are still waiting. He is due to show for bail on Sunday, is it likely the police have already had a a response from the CPS and will charge him when he shows for bail or Sunday? Or you would they have called him into the station already?
Has any one ever had a NFA once it's been to the CPS?
sorry for the questions

I'm afraid i can't answer your questions specifically as I'm at about the same stage as you for my son - I'm sure someone will be able to tell you - but I just wanted to say you don't need to apologise for asking questions as there are so many things going around in our heads as we deal with this horrible journey. Better to ask than keep it all swirling around inside and probably affecting our health.
There was a thread on this forum recently asking about the timeline between CPS getting info from the police and issuing charges and it seems to vary from area to area but it's probably fair to say that like everything there is a backlog waiting to be looked at which is taking everything longer than it did in the past.
It is certainly possible to get a NFA from the CPS if they feel they don't have enough evidence for charges to stick as they only want convictions. Hopefully someone will see this who has had that outcome......

My OH was due for bail on the Monday and the police visited him at home with the charges in person on the Wednesday before. I have heard people say that usually the police will advise you need a solicitor with you if they plan to charge when showing up for bail, but I don't have any first hand experience. Your solicitor may be able to proactively contact them beforehand to try get the lay of the land. Good luck xxx
