I wrote a post about a week ago explaining the horrible situation I am currently in. To quickly summarise, my partner has been found to have 6x cat B and 1x cat A images on his phone (I was mixed up before and thought it was 7x cat B). We got the knock last week and my partner is currently on bail.

My partner has a court date for 12th of December for an initial plea. He is adamant that he did not download the images on purpose and right now I am choosing to believe him. I genuinely don't believe my partner intentionally looked for these images but I do believe he is an idiot who has clearly downloaded some dodgy porn at the very least. His solicitor has advised him to plead guilty though as regardless of intent, the images were on his phone and he says that the outcome will be easier on my partner if he pleads guilty straight away.

I don't have any experience of the legal system so I'm wondering does anyone have any idea what will happen after the 12th? I'm guessing it will be put back until they get the full forensics report? Has anyone ever had the case be dealt with without the forensic report having come back? We are in Scotland btw.

I'm still feeling so anxious and confused so I'm sorry if I don't make much sense or I'm not being clear. I am struggling with how out of my control everything feels at the moment.

I don't know the Scottish justice system, but generally they only go to court if they have enough evidence for a successful prosecution.

They only really need one image to do that. So they may have decided they don't need a full forensic report. Has the solicitor told him that this has been requested?

Or do you mean he has requested his own forensic report? If so, then you are right, the case cannot go ahead until he gets that, so he would enter no plea at this stage and then it would be adjourned.
