I've not posted in a while but looking for any advice on Cat B Prisons for SOs, VP wings. We're not at that point but just looking for "reviews" of decent prisons, if decent is the right word, as opposed to rubbish prisons. Looking at what prisons are out there that actually help our people with courses, rehabilitation etc. if custodial happens.

Any advice, recommendations greatly appreciated although we know there probably won't be a choice if it comes to it. xx

Firstly you have no choice where you are sent to and can be moved from prison to prison with no reason given at anytime. I believe you can appeal at some stage but your life is really in their hands.

my son has been in three cat b training prisons - for sex offenders only. Each had their strengths and weaknesses but none diabolical. He has been ok and safe, which worried me the most when he was sent to prison.

you welcome to message me x

The Inside time website would be the best place to find this information.

Hi, unfortunately you won't get a say in the prison and it's highly likely your person will be moved to different prisons. As far as I know, there are only 2 prisons that offer any sort of rehabilitation work for SO's. Certainly the 2 prisons my ex was in offered nothing at all apart fromfrom numeracy and literacy which was no use to him as he had a first class degree already. Your person should be placed on the VP wing with other So's though they will be people convicted of all kinds of SO's not just what we're talking about. What they are put inside for is never discussed between prisoners. X
