Just when you think you have everything under control everything falls in!

As we are aware the consequences impact so many more than the individual themselves. In this instance both my son's girlfriend and sister.

The first is a teacher and after my son signed the register this week she was formally suspended. Despite informing them of the relationship they have stated it's misconduct. I have informed them he needs to step back.

In addition my daughter is to inform the agency to ensure the schools she works with are happy to still accept her.

I can not understand why others should be victimised in this way.

Utterly utterly ludicrous. I am so very sorry for you all. This is not their crime and as such should not be penalised for it. I'm not seeing an awful lot of 'justice' happening here in this crazy situation we've been plunged in to. Please please LFF team keep beating the drum as hard as you can for secondary victims Xx

That's just awful and they urgently need to talk to their trade union reps or a solicitor. If she's followed the right processes of notification then that isn't misconduct, even though the school is perfectly entitled to impose additional rules (e.g. she isn't to take home work, work with him in the same room, have him pick her up etc) where needed for safeguarding. If everyone knows what her person has done especially students and parents, it may not be practical to stay working at that particular school, but that isn't an issue of misconduct.

That is so ludicrous. I'm so sorry for you all.

I work in a school, though not pupil-facing, and the principal and school business manager knew from day one. I have kept work updated and my OH has been on the SOR since July. They seem to be happy with me working there, but I'm not allowed to take my laptop home and my OH isn't allowed on school grounds when he drops me off and picks me up. I'm sorry you're going through this.

Thank you all xx

My sons girlfriend has her union looking into the matter and unsurprisingly they have informed her this is a very common occurance. So why is the message not getting into schools!

Why does it seem some schools are so behind! I do not expect them to invite my son in for the Christmas nativity and carol concert and understand what their duties of care are. After all I had children in a school setting myself.

my daughter has been informed by her agency, who adore her , as do the school she works for when home from university, that they need to discuss the situation with the council!?

They also made her aware "the problem is you live in the same house"......

if this is not an unusual situation as also confirmed by the police protection officer this week, why are each being made to look like ogres.

xx
